BASIC COURSE

 

MONDAY 5 APRIL 2004  to  FRIDAY 11 JUN 2004

ALL LECTURES will proceed strictly from 08:00 - 17:00, unless otherwise determined by the director.  (Coffee/Tea available from 07:30).

 

 

REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Advance registration (enrolment) is necessary by 14 February 2004

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:  minimum Matric *

Minimum age of 21 years**

Good moral character

No criminal record

*The Director reserves the right to consider requests for the waiver of admission requirements on an individual basis

 

CONFIRMATION OF ATTENDANCE

Students accepted for attendance will receive written confirmation, including registration and other relevant information

GRADUATION DIPLOMA - CERTIFICATION

Graduation from the basic examiners' course results in the student being issued an internationally accredited diploma from the American International Institute of Polygraph.

 

NOTICE

South African legislation, which will prohibit anyone who has not qualified at an officially accredited institution from practising as a polygraphist, is being pursued at present

 

COURSE CONTENT

This training provides the graduating student with the basic knowledge, skills and ability to administer and defend  Physiological Detection of Deception (PDD) examinations for law enforcement, government and private purposes, in support of criminal and administrative investigations and pre-employment/security examinations.  The curriculum and training methods are based on federal training and experience gained in part with the USA Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DoDPI) and the Argenbright International Institute of Polygraph.  A comprehensive curriculum and extensive hands-on training are hallmarks of this training programme.  We train on both computerised and analogue instruments.

VENUE

All training is planned for presentation at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Pretoria

 

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation for out-of-town students is for their own account.  Contacts and/or recommendations for B&B and guest house accommodation is available on request.

 

COURSE FEE

Fee is *US $5 000.00, excluding VAT, which includes a light lunch.  A deposit of R5000.00 is required upon booking, with the balance payable in the first week of the course.

 

 Cancellations later than two weeks (14 days) prior to commence of the course, will forfeit 50% of the deposit.

Course participants will have the opportunity to  purchase polygraph instruments at a special rate for the duration of the course.
